Trip Highlights

Sossusvlei & Namib Desert

Start your adventure in the heart of the Namib Desert, where the famous dunes of Sossusvlei await. Here, you can capture the magical atmosphere at sunrise as the first rays bathe the dunes in warm, golden light. A visit to Deadvlei, a surreal clay pan with gnarled, dead camelthorn trees, offers a unique photographic setting unlike any other in the world. An optional hot air balloon flight over the desert provides unforgettable views from a bird's-eye perspective.

Swakopmund & Walvis Bay

Situated on the Atlantic coast, Swakopmund offers a fascinating contrast to the desert. Explore the German colonial architecture and vibrant coastal culture before embarking on a boat tour in Walvis Bay, where dolphins, seals, pelicans, and flamingos await you in their natural habitat.

Damaraland

Next, head to the rugged and impressive Damaraland, where you can explore the prehistoric rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ancient art, combined with the grand landscape of jagged mountains and wide plains, offers numerous opportunities for exceptional photography. With some luck, you may also encounter the rare desert elephants, perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions.

Etosha National Park

Your journey culminates in one of Africa’s most famous wildlife reserves—Etosha National Park. Here, you have the chance to observe the "Big Five" and many other fascinating animals in their natural habitat. The park's waterholes provide excellent opportunities for wildlife photography, especially in the early morning and at sunset when the animals come to drink.
